U.S. troops approach Iraqi border

NORTHERN KUWAIT, March 18 ? U.S. troops moved to staging areas closer to the Iraqi border on Tuesday, following President Bush?s ultimatum to Iraq and amid reports that elite Iraqi soldiers were getting chemical weapons. ?When I give you the word, together we will cross the line of departure, close with those forces who choose to fight and destroy them,? James Mattis, commanding general of the 1st Marine Division, told his troops in a letter delivered to each of them Tuesday.

Gee, and I had this big vision of the opening scene of Gladiator.

So what is it now? "On my telegram, unleash hell."

IMHO, and having a military background, I'd say there is at least a fair chance that since Saddam & sons have totally dismissed the call to leave and the UN and other contingencies are reported out of Iraq.............AND since the Pres. stated he reserved the right to strike sooner...............we'll be in Iraq as early as tonight in low capacity probably to try to get a jump on protecting the oil wells from destruction.

Just MHO, I may very well be wrong, but, movement of troops to staging areas today coupled with the stark "NO" coming from Saddam and everyone out of Iraq whom is getting out...............something is very close to happening!

Now add to this the response by the Iraqi Ambassador.................
