In another related note, a police officer came into my AP Bio class, to use a digital balance to weigh a ziploc (tm) bag full of weed. It was about 45 grams.
There shouldn't be "stupid-man law enforcement terms." Narcotic, I'd think to be a substance that causes drowsiness, sleepiness - a nervous system depressant. Opiates qualify. Amphetamines, pot should not. I can see reasons to fight opiates and amhetamines that traffic outside the law. Pot is a different story and the US government's continuing attack on pot, lumping it in with other street drugs is part of a system perpetuated by and predicated on keeping people ignorant of the true issues.Originally posted by: derek2034
Using the term "narcotic" for pot (or amphetamines) is still unnecessary and confusing. Narcotic implies a certain class of drugs, namely opioids. If you have gotten prescriptions from the doctor you would know that. It shouldn't be necessary to differentiate between the medical terms and the "stupid-man law enforcement" term.
