Hmm. 1975 13 cents. Today 42 cents

1985 22 cents Today 42 cents.

1991 29 cents Today 42 cents.


Interesting that it seems to be pretty much consistent with the inflation rate. Not too bad when you consider its a highly labor intensive job that effectively has to send a human being to over 95 percent of Americans homes 6 days a week.

Thats because usps is supposed to raise prices according to inflation.
