That article is just a rehash of others I've read recently. I don't see where the title of the article comes from; seems a bit exagerated. In fact, the quotes in the article from US lawmakers seem to be contrary to it, in that they suggest working with the reformist element in the Iranian government.

BTW, this could have better gone in this thread to add to the comments already about this topic.

Why don't simplify the whole international policy of this country. Just make a blanket statement to the world that all other governments now require approval by the U.S.. Those not approved are subject to destabilazation, military action, or whatever other means are deemed expedient to create an approved government. Form of government, religeous beliefs of leaders, and ability to kiss the U.S's ass are among the factors to be considered during the approval process. There are no appeals for unfavorable decisions and anyone voicing opposition to the above policy will be deemed as providing aid and comfort of the enemies of the U.S. and will suffer suitable reprisals. Faulty intel, lies, and conservative Christian filtering of actions and intent are all suitable criteria for evaluation. Failure to understand your culture, religion, or political history are not considered mitigating.

That's exactly how I feel!

Yeh, but my comments were sarcasm with a touch of irony and a dash of satire.

I think ALL the extreme religious conservatives in America and Iran should go to Afghanistan to spread the Word to God's forsaken children.

I'd pay to see that.

Dude . . . that's it . . . worldwide pay-per-view. All the death merchants (booze, tobacco, and Mickey Ds) provide sponsorship . . . and the US collects 80% of the proceeds b/c . . . well we say so. PPV plus syndication should be enough to reduce the top bracket to 28%.
