On MNBC, they've started bombing. Some film is available. All electricity in Kabul was cut off throughout the city, reports saying that we cut the grid. Reports are that bombing in the city is primarily in the southeastern part where members of the Taliban are located.

Warnings are that, over here, expect retaliatory terrorist acts.

Edit: Pls lock, hit Hot Deals by mistake instead of OT

If most of you are like me I spend 100% of my time in Hot Deals and 0% in OT so an occassional important OT bit of news is not a bad thing. As a matter of fact I heard it here first. Thanks for the news. I think some of the hardliners need a little more tolerance and understanding in their lives. I bit of important news won't kill you or this forum.

Free weapons and grenades... very hot deal
you can get these in 2 ways
sign up with your local recruiter,
go to afghanistan and tell them you want to join up.
Life expectancy could be related to the choice though...

Geez, for the folks yelling LOCK IT UP: Read his post, he realized he posted in the wrong forum within a minute of his post and edited it "Edit: Pls lock, hit Hot Deals by mistake instead of OT".

Calm down people.

I agree too, even though I do read OT, this is where I heard it first.

Thanks for the heads up!

Whos mad he posted it in here?

On the other hand, I've seen a few thanking him, myself included. I don't think that one little post mentioning that the country that most of us live in is AT WAR is going to jeopardize the integrity of this board, or even hurt a thing. His post was the first I had heard.

Honestly, I only read these messages to see how many idiots start screaming "LOCK IT UP!" I never read the Off Topic forum, since I have no general interest in Off Topic stuff. To me, this is as important to know about as "Free Toilet Paper." Let the mods do their work - they don't need people yelling about locks to know what to do. Don't pretend to be a mod! Most people in the forum don't like this behavior, so let it be known that your little power trip is not appreciated.

I do consider this a HOT DEAL since I have paid my share of the bombs that are being used. We all have, whether we like it or not. How do you feel knowing that your money helped buy an aircraft carrier, or some stealth bombers? Makes me feel like I got a HOT DEAL being a "part owner" . . .

That being said, I still deeply regret that this has to be done. I regret the thought that this may go on for some time. Hopefully this will end sometime soon.

Agreed......I get so tired of people "volunteering" to police the forum for "off-topic" or unrelated posts..... It would be so refreshing if you anal-retentive types would just get on with your lives (assuming you have one) and let the threads die a dignified death by not posting to them, thereby assuring that it gets bumped to the top, and your "witty" comments get read by other "mod-wannabees" who then join in the attack like a pack of wild dogs.

AT has specified mods that are already assigned to do this job.

Your input is not required.

Here:

<< WRONG FORUM. LOCK IT UP >>

<< Ah, I guess this is the OFF-TOPIC section I've been looking for. Lock 'er up. >>

I first heard about this in Hot Deals also. It allowed me to turn on the TV and catch the president's talk/speech. I would not have read it in OT so I probably would have missed some of the info in the beginning.

Oh I see...we're attacking people screaming "lock it up"
This is the wrong forum and if you're getting your "news" from hot deals
then you need to get a life! Ever heard of ABC, NBC, CBS, Reuters, or AP?
