Tyson and Lewis to fight in Memphis

<< fight that could make more than $100 million ? and pay each fighter more than $20 million ? is now scheduled to take place at the 20,000-seat Pyramid arena, where ringside seats will fetch $2,500. >>

Wow!

<------ looks for change in pocket to see if he can buy a ringside ticket 🙂

Yeah if Tyson doesn't have a Melt Down first. This will be more of a novelty match than anything else. Tyson's mental capacity is questionable at best and I believe that he would be incapable of following any Fight Plan that it would take for him to be able to beat Lewis. One or two hard jabs to his melon would set him off making him lose all his composure and making him an easy target for Lewis. Holyfield already exposed Tyson as a has been.

<< "We're not having any more press conferences with the two of them together," Tyson adviser Shelly Finkel said. >>

You think? The best was to prepare Tyson for this match would be to have him train in a Mental Institute.

A Heavyweight Championship fight in Tennesee? :Q

Btw, I heard that the Bank in Tennesee they are using is refusing to extended the 12.5 million line of credit needed for site expense because of a morality clause.

ahh a sad day for Tennessee. We let this freak of a person box for the $$$, but the state will refuse a $40 million dollar donation from Bill Gates to help out schools for disadvantaged children.

ESPN said at the press conference (they're only gunna have 1) there might be a plexiglass barrier between them. 😀

Who's putting $ on the fight?

<< The bet should be whether the fight actually happens or not. >>

Or what body part gets partially digested.

"I'm gunna fvck ya till you love me!" <----Mike Tyson

True. First Tennesee Bank refused to issue a letter of credit for the 12.5 million citing "reasons of morality". Tysons rape conviction and his other legal accomplishments were cited as the reasons. They have only manged to get 4 out of the 12.5 mill guaranteed, so this still isn't a done deal. Don't know if I agree with their reasons but it is certainly within their rights. The Chief Petty Officers Association here on base has an agreement with the Pyramid, that we can work events (usher, concessions, etc.) with the proceeds going to the CPOA ( we do a lot of charity work). I would never pay to see Tyson but I might throw my name in the hat to work this event. Personally I'm a little surprised the fight is coming here. The casinos aren't really that close and downtown Memphis really isn't all that nice. Desperation I guess.

Kind of like looking at a Fatal accident on the Highway when you drive past. The sight horrifies you but you can't help but look.

With a record like Tyson's, there are only 2 possible carrer options, professional boxer or Dallas Cowboy (after 2 years at FSU). 🙂

Well, one thing's for sure:

Part of Lennox Lewis' winnings will go to plastic surgery to repair whatever Tyson bites.

What happened to Washington, DC? Did they actually have the gumption to turn down this economic bonanza?

Been to Memphis, its a decent city, but if this story is true my opinion of that city will be decidedly more negative.
