Typo caught..Possibly Hot, HP5455 PPC 399$ at hhgregg

There's no freaking way...has to be a price mistake. I don't live near an HH Greg, but I know someone who does, so I'll see if he'll check it out for me.
 
I called an HH Greg store, and they confirmed that they have them in stock, and will honor the advertised price (even though they ring up at $699), so I would say this is pretty hot! I was going to get one, but I talked myself out of it since I just got an Axim not a month ago. Unless someone wants to buy that off of me, then maybe! 🙂
 
The weekly ad from their home page shows it at $699. I'd say if you can get it for $399 it's a steal.....and wouldn't you know it I was in Nashville LAST weekend:|
 
You say they will honour the adv price.. even tho it rings up as 699? how is that honouring the price?

I got to this link by click weekly ad on left side , and going to page 5..
(hey... the dont have a page 5 now, and it says 699$.. looks like they caught it)

but you can tell by going to my link that WAS page 5, that it surely was 399$.

They will honor it, meaning that it rings up at $699, but is advertised for $399, so thet will adjust the price. This would be even hotter if you could PM to a place that did the 110% difference guarantee!

OK SO I live in Chicago, and I am fighting with 2 INdiana stores to get them to honor their price. Man Do I hate Indiana. But I would drive the 3 hours to pick up one of these bad boys.

What stores? I called the Fort Wayne one and that's the one that said they would honor their price.

I called the Lafayetter store and Kokomo. The Kokomo sotre said that they would honor it, but said that they only have one in stock and I want two, one for my dad. So I asked them to call the Lafayette store and see if I could just go there...sinc then they renigged on the deal, and won't honro it. I called customer service...they won't honor it. I am calling corporate to get them to honor it. Its time to take off the boxing gloves and fight this one to the death.

They have found the typo.. and the link has changed to the page

they changed it a while ago. But if you type in the address .....400.pdf, it shows up.
 
I've got one of these and I don't know why anyone would want one. I never use it. I've got a 1GB Microdrive in it full of mp3s, thought I'd have a neat player but even hooked to my car stereo it doesn't sound that great. Looks cool, that's about it. Luckily I got mine free, I evaluate hardware and usually get to keep vendor items. Not trying to crap on the thread, just save someone from making (possibly) an expensive mistake.

Umm...then please don't?

PDAs aren't for everybody, and high-end PDAs such as this certainly are for even a smaller group. But for those who know what they are, know what they do, and know how to use them to their potential, they are powerful tools. While you may not like this model, many others would kill to have it at this price!

Kudos to anyone who got one for $399.

You could post this in ANY thread.. Every item is not for everyone. I should go into the 18" LCD thread for $240 and say that I don't know why anyone would want an 18" LCD cause it's not as clear as my CRT. You see? Just because YOU don't want one doesn't mean other people don't want one.. I could see if you had some valuable comment like "this part doesn't work well" or "it's made of cheap material" (not saying this PDA is, but those would be valid comments).. Saying "I don't like these so they are worthless to everyone" is really ignorant... I own a 400mhz dell axim and use it AT LEAST a couple hours every day. $399 for this one seems like a really nice deal since it has some features my axim doesn't 🙁 But oh well, my axim only cost me $200 🙂
