Typical Paypal BS - What will happen??

Sold a motherboard on eBay almost exactly 1 month ago.

- I shipped next day USPS Priority mail w/ DC.

Buyer has had the motherboard for atleast 3 weeks.

Now buyer files a "not as descibed" paypal complaint/chargeback to try and get his $$ back. He says one of the mem slots doesn't work. That is not true and it worked 100%.

Specifically in my auction there is a clause about 7 day return policy. And any defects or problems must be brought to my attention within 48hours after delivery.

So I'm trying to figure out what will happen here? Will paypal rule in my favor or his? Do these buyers just get to do whatever they want? Why should I even have a return policy if ebay won't help me enforce it?

This is just extremely irritating and I'm really getting sick of paypal and ebay. Furthermore Paypal says this will take up to a month to resolve WTF and meanwhile I'm missing $$ that should be in my account or my wallet, etc. Not being held by PAYPAL!

how flexible? I mean I'm a fair person but to be honest I feel like he is trying to take advantage.

Why does it take 3 weeks to tell me about this problem? A problem I know never existed because I used all 4 dimms and never had a single problem.

If he notified me within the 1st 7day, then yeah I would take it back and refund no problem. But 3 weeks? Cmon thats a little much really.

well 7 day return policy should be clear enough. you never know with shitty ass ebay/paypal though. I do remember hearing something about a trick to get to held funds, not sure what exactly it was, or if it even works

Why didn't you sell it on AT instead?

yeah I should of. but it was an older 939 asus a8n premium board that was bringing a decent amount on eGay. More than I thought I could get out of it here on the forums.

most people on here have moved onto newer stuff. plus I didn't want it to take a month to sell. wanted to get rid of some stuff fast.

so does anyone know how this outcome will play out?

will i get screwed over even though I did everything right? i shipped fast, clearly had the 7 day return policy in my auction, etc.

I think if I lose this dispute that I'm done with ebay and paypal period. Tired of the run around hassles and defintely tired of all the FEES.

I think he meant, "From a standing position, can you grab your ankles without tipping over?"

if he's running 4 sticks of ram, IIRC a lot of 939 systems couldnt handle that much DDR and would disable a slot. If this is the case, then it's a design flaw and not something you are in the wrong for. RTFM?

But does paypal give a shit about that?

Paypal blows goats for quarters.

$10 says the OP is out the money. Any takers?

Usually they go with the one who purchased the item. I use to sell a ton on Ebay and had shit like that go on.

if the buyer wins, that is ridiculous, that's like buying a diesel car and putting gasoline in it and expecting the dealership to take it back.

Theyll make the guy return it to you and then give him a refund.

Yep, likely he will get a fucked up motherboard back and be out his money. Unfortunate really...

Agreed, you are fubared

dont you transfer $ out of paypal the second you received it ? i never had a charge back so i dont know how it works.. if you dont have money in there, can they try to get it from your bank ?

Doesn't matter if you don't have any paypal balance. They can't touch your bank account.

Generally paypal sides with the buyer, but like i said if you already transferred money to your checking, it won't make any difference.

yes i do but then my account is negative IF the buyer wins. Then I cannot pay for anything and I'm screwed out of using the paypal account anymore. etc etc. so paypal will make sure they get their money one way or another.

man i hate paypal and ebay.

If you are dumb enough to have your bank account tied to paypal, they will go into your bank and get it iirc...

Nope, they are not a registered bank and such they cannot initiate transfers on their own.
