Typical Amazon experience?

Fiancee picked up some cheapo sapphire earrings on amazon, recieved them and they seriously look like they are made of glass. She returned them, and left a review, "good shipping etc, no problems on return, but you get what you pay for, these look like glass, etc"

A few days later the vendor calls her cell a few times and asks her to remove/change the feedback. She refused, feedback was honest.

Then I have to hear about it.

Well....it was pretty cool. Except for the bugs and crap there. Had to get a lot of shots so I didn't get like malaria or some crazy thing.

Oh and watch out for snakes.

My friend bought a poster from an amazon vendor. The vendor screwed up and the poster arrived 5 weeks later. She wrote about this in her amazon feedback. The vendor contacted her multiple times to offer her a 20% discount on her next purchase if she removed the negative feedback. Each time she told them she had no intention of ordering from their store again.

Poor business practices, for sure.

Your thread title makes it sound like Amazon asked her, but:

A few days later the vendor calls her cell a few times and asks her to remove/change the feedback

So Amazon itself had nothing to do with pressuring her, correct?

I'll be calling you soon asking you to change your thread title.

This isn't the thread you're looking for.

if you have his phone number, you can get his address. why not show up and punch him in the face?

How much did said fake sapphire earrings cost? Good/quality sapphires are NOT cheap and I think it's wrong for her to expect it to not look like glass/plastic.

I guess you haven't taught her well enough yet.

Make sure you have her tell people she fell down the stairs.

Yea, the vendors do that a lot. It's really annoying, especially if you have a bad experience with a vendor with good feedback - goes to show that they only have that good feedback because they badger customers to remove the negatives.

I had one experience where I paid for "expedited shipping" and it still took 10 days to arrive. I gave them a neutral rating and posted why - I got about 25 calls in the next week. I might have removed the feedback if they'd just refunded my shipping, rather than calling me 25 times and trying to argue with me that the shipping wasn't slow.

Not Amazon's fault....just the annoying vendor.
