Refuribshed
Its based on the bx chipset, 1/4/2 4 dimms
anybody have any experience
says it supports up to p3 600. [edit:no longer p3 800]

Note: http://2cpu.com/ubb/Forum5/HTML/000616.html
These guys says it can't be rev. F because of the 1/4/2 setup and therefore only supports up to katmai 600 processors.

hm...

I posted in motherboards, but you don't get a fast response :)

Must be a revision F to support Coppermine up to 800mhz. Good stable board. It is a refurb so you kind of take a chance on that with only the 90 day warranty from Tyan. I put one together for my father with dual PII450s a couple of months ago. Coupled with a Promise ATA66 controller card and a DiamondMax Plus 40GB drive, it is a great system.

Revision F does have a 133FSB setting, but BX chipset so no 1/2 AGP multiple.

This is an awesome deal if it is a Rev. F mobo. I ordered one so I'll wait and see.

nevermind won't work with cel2s in smp, i think.

Intel and overclocking don't go together. The board will detect what cpu you have and that's it :) plus its microATX, bleh.

[edit]I was referring to the intel board posted, not my post :)

This is an OEM board and may be quite different than the retail board. The board is listed on the Tyan website as having 5 PCI slots and 2 ISA slots... the board at Overstock.com has 4 PCI slots and 3 ISA slots... I wonder if there are any other differences. -SFO

I am completely ignorant to dual processors and was wondering whether the motherboard supports 850 mhz per slot or for both slots combined (total of 1.7 ghz). Any help would be appreciated.

That's 1.7 ghz total, of course it says up to 800mhz although since its clock locked they're supposed to autodetect, so not sure if 850 support is there. But keep in mind no 133mhz bus so no eb chips.
its refurbished, because it says "Factory Refurbished" above the hand logo. I'll edit my post to say refurb

Not too shabby. And I saw in a Tiger Direct catalog today how you can get something like a 300Mhz PII for $69 or so?

Basically you could put together a low end dual processor server very very cheaply.

I hate to burst your bubble, but I've been researching dual P3 systems and I just received my Tyan Tiger 100 from Onvia along with 2 P3 700 cb0. Just need my slockets and golden orbs.

What I want to say is that the 4 PCI usually means that it's not Rev. F. Check out the 2cpu.com forums if your interested in dual P3s.

I should be getting mine in the next 1 or 2 days according to ups. I don't mind if it's not rev. F since I'm building a dual 366@550 system and don't need the 133 fsb. Is shouldn't have any trouble if it's not rev F right?

You're not bursting my bubble. Even if this thing is not a Rev. F, it should still do up to PIII600 fine. If it does turn out to be a Rev. F, then that is just icing on the cake. Either way, it is one hell of a board for $69.

That's true.

For stability issues it's better not to o/c. I was about to get a Supermicro P6BDE for stability even though it can't be o/c'd.

It's a very good deal none the less.

Interesting discussion going on over at 2cpu. From everything that I can find on the Gateway site, this thing if it is indeed a gateway refurb could only do 400. If that is the case, it's going back to Overstock faster than it arrived here.

Here is the link to the discussion over at 2cpu....
http://2cpu.com/ubb/Forum5/HTML/000650.html

And here is the link to the gateway site with some information on the board that they used in some of their systems.....
http://www.gateway.com/support/techdocs/references/motherboard/0aang/00aang.shtml#bios

We shall see.

i sent an e-mail about whether it would support an 850, here's my reply:
Thanks for your interest in shopping in my department. I know, with this price
it's hard to believe, but it does support up to a 850MHz processer. Also, it
does have 4 32-bit PCI bus mastering slots (1 of which is a shared PCI/ISA slot)
and 2 16-bit ISA slots. Let me know if I can answer any other questions, and
please visit us again soon for great savings on name-brand products.

Thank you,
Sean Black

So looks like its a rev.F and it would have to support with the current bios, or be upgradeable else they're lying.

How long does Overstock usually take to ship out?

I didn't expect lightning speed, but 4 days later, no confirmation that the order is on its way. Just a "order accepted" e-mail.

Website says the same thing.

Will they confirm shipping or will it just show up on my doorstep?
