Got a used 40GB PS3 tonight for a heck of a deal. Most things are cut and dry. Couple questions though as I figure it out.

Questions:

(this one might be a TV question)
1) I have a 32" LG HDTV with dual HDMI. I ran a 1.3 HDMI cable to the PS3 and allowed it to auto set the resolution. It showed all resolutions available and set it to 1080p. It displays fine on the TV, but I am wondering how this is possible, as I think the max resolution for this tv is 1366 x 768. Apparently my TV features an ability to upconvert to 1080p. How is this possible? And should I be manually setting it to 720p instead?

2) Whats the best way for me to share videos (such as Divx, AVI, WMV) to the PS3? Same question goes for pics and music.

Thats all the questions I have for now. The Blu-Ray picture is amazing. So far I think this will get more use than my 360 did.

Your television's resolution is 1366 x 768. It accepts signals up to 1080p. When a 1080P signal is received by the television, the television converts it to 1366 x 768.

I use Media Player 11 without a hitch. You can share pics, music and video. All you have to do is enable media sharing, then turn on your ps3 and it should pick up the media server. You just have to allow media sharking access to the PS3 on your computer.

Media Player 11 will do the job, but Tversity is much more user friendly IMO.
