I got my dad to renew his tickets for at least one more year. I hope the 49ers do well so we can make some money on selling tickets and it seems a shame to give up the season tickets my grandfather first bought beginning in 1946.

(I live in L.A., so I cannot justify taking them over from my dad.)

Wow, 1946! I was only a few years in. Don't think I'd want to give those up either.

A plus for this year, they have a few home games that should sell well.. Cowboys, Steelers, Giants.

I didn't renew my 49er season tickets this season.. Considering current trends, PSLs for the new stadium would be over 10k anyways.

I love the NFL. At this point in time watching a game at home is a much better experience than watching in person. Even if that weren't the case, like in the '80s when the telecasts kinda sucked there is no way I would ever pay $10,000 (or any amount) just for the privilege of later paying $400 per ticket per game.

PSLs are perhaps the biggest ripoff ever invented in the history of mankind.

$1000 - $20,000, per seat. yeah right. i can guess who they're targeting with that: people with more money than brains, and people playing games with company money.

This shit is getting beyond me...I have been following this quite closely and I still cant figure out what the problem is on the side of the players...have the actual $$ amounts come out or do they all just keep looking at the BIG$$$$ that are flaunted in the news...if I have this correct, which i think I do, they are trying to figure out a way to split 9 BILLION dollars...the owners want to keep 2BILLION before they split the rest with the players...huh..53 player per team times 32 teams = 1696 players that want to feel that 7 BILLION is not enough for them...that equals...let me see.......4.12 Million per player...now we know that some players don't make as much as others...that throws the whole economics off...While small market teams in the NFL use revenue sharing to keep everyone afloat maybe the player should be sharing their revenue......Maybe Brady and Manning should put their salary and marketing revenue into a pot that is shared equally amongst the 1696 roster players in the NFL to make sure no one or their family starves.

As a business owner myself, My second highest cost to raw materials is labor...it is roughly 25% of my gross sales....If anyone of my employees insisted that I share that data with them, not only would I tell them to fuck off I would replace them within minutes of me kicking there ass out the door.

The players are really pushing it behind the lead of DeMaurice Smith and I really hope the owners force them to decertify..........If I was Kraft I would tell Brady "Fuck Off" if he wants to be a plaintiff and sue me and my fellow owners. And the same goes for Manning and Brees...Irsay and Benson should tell them to fuck off also.

They want to play, go play in the CFL, or start their own league...all they need is some of their $$ to get the ball rolling...hell I bet they could lease the current stadiums from the owners, whether it be the team owners or the actual taxpayers that support that stadium (I for one would gladly welcome a return on my investment)... shouldn't be too much for them to handle.

Next all they have to do is organize an equitable overall league players contract and terms that is fair, organize teams, a schedule, a salary structures that is fair and equitable for everyone, insure the grounds they play on, insure the players and their families, put money aside for retired veterans and their health care, hire security, secure vendors, get a marketing team together to not only promote themselves but also the whole of the league. And that is what I can think of off the top of my head.

Seeing that many people think the owners are being unfair it should be easy for them to pull this off and garnish fan support. Overhead should be considerably lower, as they will be working for themselves, so ticket prices should drop while they maximize their tv revenue.

The players would no longer need agents since they would be negotiating contract amongst themselves and they will know what is in the best interest of their fellows teammates and those of rivals.

DeMaurice, get the players voting tomorrow. Players, get in front of Doty ASAP and get this thing moving.

And Finally owners.....start your own league, again, as the NFL, will be no more. Hire employees like you would a short order cook...here is what the job pays take it or leave it...sure there may be an inferior product fielded for a year or two but rest assured players are the greedy ones in this situation and as they start fighting amongst themselves on how to split the $$'s, the talent will start flowing again to the league that is operated by the current owners, who have kept this game going strongand built it to what it is today right from the beginning.

Every time I look into it and try to wrap my head around it...I just know there is some vital piece of information I am missing.
I can't even formulate on who is to blame.

I love NFL football because it costs me nothing. All the games are on free TV except for some ESPN games. I pay them zero, but they give me lots of great football.
