For those of you that are not in the CT/Mass area, Northampton is a predominately lesbian town. It's college population is full of gay students. Smith College, along with Mt. Holyoke College, and a few other colleges around Amherst, are known for having the most lesbian students. And unfortunately, most look like these two. Don't get me wrong, you do get the hotties, but they tend to fade in the backround because of all the freaks that flock to this town.

Northampton is a really, really cool town to walk around though. They have awesome shops, and Pearl Street Nightclub, and the Iron Horse Nightclub, are historic in the musical circles. Look Park on the outskirts of Northampton is probably one of the nicest parks I've ever been to. But, because of the colleges, there really are a lot of freaky looking people in this town. 99% are cool, they just look wierd. Expressionism is really big in this town, much more so than in any of the towns surrounding Northampton.

just goes to show that no one takes it seriously when a woman rapes. Granted, this case isn't as cut-and-dried as it could be...

And just because this incident made the papers, doesn't mean the risk of rape is greater t hen it was prior to tis incident. Your best protection is making a point to not put yourself in high risk situations. It's pretty logical... hangout/party/sleep with people you know and trust and never go into the house of someone you don't know/trust
