I live in Manassas and only go to DC for VA Hospital stuff.
Amazingly, I think I did have an appointment scheduled for today but it got changed a month ago.
I was gonna take the VRE in and then use the Metro to get around.

I heard about this just recently. Luckily I wasn't going to take the Red line today. These trains are usually packed like sardine cans. :(

My brother took the red line today, but he got off at Union Station to take the MARC. He didn't get involved in this mess fortunately.

:( :( Jesus Christ! Looks like a signal malfunction. By the time the operator on the 3rd train sees the stopped train, it would already be too late to stop the collision.

:( yeah. Apparently, there was a train stopped at the station. One of the trains involved in the accident was stopped outside of the station to wait for its turn. The 3rd train just plowed into the back of the waiting train that was outside the station. The operator of the 3rd train is one of the four dead.

This time of the day, it's going to be packed, standing room only, so it's not surprising unfortunately.

Usually, there isn't even enough room to stand up straight during rush hour. :(

I ride the VRE commuter train, but I know many that take the red line. Looks like a former co-workers wife was on that train, but she is ok.
