I'm pretty sure it's fake after watching it 3 times. I think I can still hear the other girl's voices after they jump. The girl remaining up there says "not yet not yet" or something and then jumps. She's still talking to the others.

edit: doesn't cornell have the highest suicide rate among the ivies? In fact, doesn't it have a high suicide rate overall?

So at my university, two undergraduates have killed themselves in the past two days. Another suicide happened a couple months ago as well. Can I get a WTF?
Maybe they knew something you do not? Pull the trigger to find out. :awe:

he's in Ithica, so I assume Cornell.

That is what the gorges are there for, afterall. Would be a shame to waste them by people not throwing themselves off.

or, it could be that other school in Ithaca. What's it called again? Oh yeah, Ithaca.
2 big schools there.
And, those gorges are an awesome spot to walk through. I was taking a physics class for physics teachers at Cornell a few years ago - about 30 of us tested the walking in cadence over a bridge thing - that mythbusters blundered on. Yeah, we got a suspension bridge really going to the point where we decided we had to stop - we didn't want to be remembered at 30 idiots who plunged to their deaths. Of course, it was more like stomping than marching, but there were only 30 of us.

It happened at Cornell, I'm positive.

We're actually slightly below the national average, despite the reputation we have. I believe it's MIT that has the highest rate. We had zero suicides last year, but I think we're on #4 this year. Not sure WTF is going on...

To whomever asked, yes, I'm a Cornell student. I'm a Communication & AEM (applied economics and management, or business) double-major.

Yeah. The first (and maybe both) were undergrads in the school of engineering. They've got cops / security types hanging out at all the bridges. I guess they think the second suicide was at least partly catalyzed by the first, so they're going to put people at the bridges until things calm down a bit.

Really sad stuff. Glad I'm not depressed.

edit: I'm pretty sure the two last week bring the total to at least five in 2010 so far. There were a couple (that didn't get this level of attention) before classes started in Jan.

Ithaca is Gorges.

As a humorous aside, I have a friend that's in the Vagina Monologues. They made T-Shirts.
Vaginas are Gorges

Too many 'poor little rich kids' at Cornell. I suspect it's the same at Johnson & Wales.

Johnson & Wales in NO WAY can be compared to Cornell. They are two entirely different schools. An idiot could do okay at JWU, and a genius could have a tough time at cornell. I don't think the suicide rate at cornell is correlated with the cost of tuition, but rather how tough it is.

Every kid living on North Campus and Collegetown has to take a bridge over a gorge on the way home from exams. That plus kids who went from valedictorian to failing and you got a bad combo.

I wonder if it ended up like this news report... so sad.

http://www.tu.tv/videos/suicidio-_25

Looks fake for some reason. Where da blood at? A person fell from a balcony in my brother's apartment complex and there was blood everywhere. Apparently skulls contain blood. Who knew?

That liveleak link is a bit disturbing. Not because of the video, but look at this text combo I'm getting:
suicide pack
four girls have a suicide pact to jump to their deaths.
