OK, here are two puzzles for y'all to work on, and possibly help me sort out some system glitches

1) The system oulinted below is built and running quite smoothly since last Thursday. However, if I sleep windows, I'm unable to wake the machine up again with the keyboard or mouse, or any way for that matter. Is this because I haven't installed correct keyboard drivers?

The keyboard is a "multifunction" keyboard that I harvested from my old Gateway POS 'puter from like 5 years ago. It has buttons for sleep, CD controlls etc, none of which work under the new system. I've been unable to find XP drivers for it. I've enabled P/S2 wake up functions in the BIOS, but still no go. Any Ideas?

2) (slightly scarrier problem) On first startup in the AM, I've heard, on several occasions, a buzzing, hauntingly reminiscent of a fan somewhere in the box rubbing on something, like a wire or adjascent component. This has in the past prompted immediate power-off. I've then started the machine with the case open, but have been unable to identify the source of the problem. The noise lowers progressively in pitch and then goes away completely. All fans on visual inspection are spinning, and the CPU temp and Fan RPM's are all cool. There is no header for the vid-card fan or chip temp, so I cant check that, but display has been ok.

I figure that as things heat up, whatever is rubbing expands and the two surfaces lose contact. Sound familiar to anyone? Sound scarry to anyone?

Fluffy post, I know, but I'm interested in you ideas. Thanks.
