Two shameless rip-offs from something else.

StageLeft

No Lifer
In Planet Terror, the mediocre movie in Grindhouse, a bunch of zombie creature like things are chopped up by rotor blades by a propeller, even though this happened before PT in 28 weeks later (zombies cut up by rotor blades). Copy cat award goes to PT.

In South Park, during one of the episodes Bono asks his dad for bitty, even though in the exact same manner it had already happened in Little Britain. Now, SP fanbois probably think it was paying homage, but a blatant rip off is not homage, it's trying to capitalize on a funny joke and taking advantage of people who'd not seen Little Britain, but rest assured if your laughed your butt off (as I would have, but didn't since it was a used joke), the creators copied it.

EDIT: Ok got owned on the PT. I kind of figured there was some overlap there anyway but if it really was released first...eh, what can I say, the movie still sucked 😀

Planet Terror Release Date:21 June 2007 link

28 Weeks later Release date 11 May 2007 link

I doubt this was stolen so quickly. I'm sure filming for PT was done by the time 28 weeks later came out

edit:

Grindhouse was initially released 6 April 2007 link

I don't believe I remember what I was going to say...

Are you telling me that the show that satires and uses every pop-culture reference known to western civilization is actually ripping off of everything? Next you're going to tell me that in that homeless episode they were actually ripping off of the bus modding scene from Dawn of the Dead rather than just satirize or paying homage to it.

No, I'm not telling you that.

A satire is a satire. Taking an existing joke, not changing it, and putting it in a cartoon is stealing it; they added nothing new. Watch the two vids, you know i'm right, it won't hurt to admit, I promise!

Kinda sounds like the Ravenholm level in Half-Life 2.

Heh, I thought that too.
