Two RIMMS required?

With my recently acquired CPU and motherboard (Asus P4T533-C), I bought one RIMM module (Samsung 256 mb). But the system doesn't boot properly. Is it true that you have to have two RIMMs installed? (Right now I am using my single RIMM and the C-RIMM).

Yes, for this board you need to have ALL RIMM slots populated.

This board uses 184 pin PC800/PC1066 which must be installed in pairs. If you are not using RIMMs in all 4 slots, you will have to fill the other slots with cRIMMs to terminate the signal. Make sure you purchase 184 pin (16bit) RIMMS rather than the 232 pin(32bit) RIMMs which will not physically fit into this board.

Thanks.

I accidently only bought one block of RAM, which meant my system didn't start. I have ordered my second one now, and I hope it's the right one.

It's: Samsung 256mb PC1066 16bit (with two notches)
