Two quick questions that I can't answer.

1) If I buy an iPhone from the Apple Store, can I get the t-Mobile variant and it should work with Verizon, correct?

2) Will the N5 come in a CDMA flavor?

1. no
2. no one really knows until launch day. However, based on leaks specs, only Sprint is supported. Not Verizon.

Im getting conflicted answers for the first question.

Can I walk into the Verizon store, ask for just the device, then activate using my account?

The iPhone 5S and 5C will work data only. The CDMA modem won't be provisioned on the AT&T and TMobile versions.

Yes, you can just walk in and tell Verizon you want to buy one outright.

2) Will the N5 come in a CDMA flavor?

Like the 5S/C, it will likely work for data, but don't hold your breath for a Verizon voice compatible Nexus for A WHILE.

So this next question is more opinion based.

I'm going off to college next year so should I just upgrade and get rid of my unlimited data or pay full price and keep it? The only reason I would keep my unlimited data is to torrent TV shows and movies.

Keep unlimited, especially as an outgoing college kid. If you are anti-social and prefer to stay indoor, then get rid of unlimited data.

You'll be going on camping trips, beach trips, ski trips and many more. Highly advise unlimited data. Also, sell the unlimited plan before blindly upgrade. It's worth at least couple hundred bucks. Port the number out to keep your number.

As a poor college student, I doubt that I will travel all that much.

If I were to torrent something, I could always walk to a close store that had wifi and just download there, then walk back to my dorm.

That sounds smart.

Edit: And thank you for inspiring me to find out how to torrent on iOS without jailbreak.

No worries. I was actually kind of surprised to see one model of iPad for everyone.

And considering that the Sprint version still supports every single band that the AT&T/TMo/VZW version does and adds the two bands needed for Sprint LTE in the 800mhz range, it does make me wonder why in the hell there is a separate Sprint version at all.

At least the other two models I can rationalize since they have support for frequencies in the 2.6ghz range. which would probably require a different antenna configuration.

I want to use the iPhone as a hotspot, but I read that its a lot harder than it is on Android (which has native tethering [certain ROMs have work arounds for it while iPhones don't])
Are you on your parents plan or your own?
Parents plan

We all share minutes (mom, dad, me, brother) All have unlimited texting, my brother has 4gb data, mom has 2, me and my dad have unlimited.

Mom: iP5
Bro: Shitty Android, but is more than likely getting an iPhone (if he does well in school)
Me: Gnex
Dad: S3
Man, those sure are some large "keyboard drivers" you're getting.
"Wait, but you said you were downloading Linux last week?!"
"This time I'm downloading Revit and AutoCAD"
