Two Questions about SATA

1) Is hardware support required for NCQ or will all chipsets/controlers support it out of the box ? I know the drive has to have it as a feature, but beyond that whats needed ?

2) Will some/any/all 64 bit PCI cards work in 32 bit slots, thinking about getting a controler card but want one that does Raid5 and this means I have to go 64 bit from the looks of it.
 
1) The Motherboad SB chipset must include this capability
2) Yes some will but you may loose some functions so check with the Card Manufacture
