Two problems with my old laptop - repairable?

Hey guys, I have an old Toshiba laptop that I'd like to use for a web browser/2nd comp in my house but I have a couple problems with it and Im not sure if it is worth trying to fix.

1) Needs new FL Inverter (I think). The screen goes black/stays black all the time. This happened a few years ago and I still have the repair checklist and that's what was replaced under a recall/repair.

2) The power supply input on the computer is real loose and I cant get it to take a charge anymore. I tried to open it up to see if I could reseat something, but couldnt figure out how to get the case completely apart =(.

Is this a lost cause? Lemme know if I need to post more info.

Depends on the specs. I have re-soldered loose power input ports and replace a few FLs, but if its some old P3 or similar to that then you would probably be better off buying a 499 laptop from Gateway or Dell.

Going from memory Im going to guess it was an 1805 series which according to the Toshiba site is a P3 - so I guess I can junk it.

So sad.....
