It doesn't happen during boot or shutdown, seems kinda random when it happens. But when it happens, it blanks out for 1-2 secs like it lost the signal then it comes back to normal. Drivers for LCD and video card are up to date ... not sure what else can cause this. Any inputs?

I have this on a Samsung 225BW that I got last year on Black Friday. I still get it from time to time, but it's maybe once a month now. I'm on my third gfx card since getting this thing and it happened at same on all, both nvidia and ATI. I use to get it way more often and of course at the worst times, and what made the biggest difference for whatever reason was changing the monitor from auto-detect source to manual mode and choosing the right input - in my case the DVI source. Not sure why or if it even makes sense, but worth a shot I guess.

I had a samsung 205b that did that. It was just a problem with sammsung being crap quality. Getting a better cable reduced the problem but didn't eliminate it. Lowering the res eliminated the problem but of course, that wasn't a good solution.

hrm, seems like I'm not the only one with this issue ... I'm using the VGA cable and not DVI . I'll try forcing the mode and not have it on auto-detect, I'll report back to see if it improves or not. :)
