Two Muslims pulled from flight to North Carolina because....

From a legal standpoint, does this privately owned company have the right to choose who it does business with? Do they have the right to choose who will and will not be allowed in their privately owned aircraft? Do they have the right to remove persons from their personal private property as they deem fit?

Here's a hint, the answer is Yes to all three.

Didn't the airline enter into a contract to transport those passengers when they sold them tickets? I cant see anything the passengers did anything to invalidate that contract.

So, Vic Vega believes that the manager working in a restaurant in the 1960's could throw out black patrons if other white folks in the restaurant felt uncomfortable eating near them - because THAT reason wouldn't be discrimination???!

Vic, are you trolling on purpose? If you're going to play devil's advocate, at least make some effort, mmkay?

I live about two miles from Maryland. And I've been all the way down to Georgia.

Given that the video says that Delta asked the passengers if anyone had a problem and none of them spoke up, and the fact that the crew on the plane is not necessarily even from the area... I don't know how you can state that it's simply an issue of the "bigoted south."

There's a good chance that people anywhere in the United States can be scared of Muslims 😛.

The flight crew has final say as to who is on the aircraft. They can have anyone they want removed for whatever reason.

+1....Im sorry, but if the turfed passengers have any problems with that, they can take it up with their fanatic brotherhood, life is hard and sometimes unfair, especially when others force our own actions, through no fault of our own..

this. it matters not where they are flying to, or flying from--who knows where the fuck the crew is from.

Not by chance Islamic are you?....

Nevermind him, look at YOU. Are you a gay islamic? Your avatar suggests that even a man is wearing a hijab.

Pilot needs to be reprimanded. I don't know about being fired because our media and politicians at times do a bang up job promoting islamophobia, so I can't blame people who are influenced by the fear for their actions.

Shouldn't the fact that the whole arab world is fixated on all their revolutions (which we quietly have a nice double standard on - ie: don't report anything going on in Iraq, and be quiet about Bahrain until its clear that the foreign troops finally saved the king to ultimately only say "oh we didn't like that whole 'attack the protestors with military hardware thinnnngggg...but yup yup that is it') rather than the death of Bin Laden kind of show that these stereotypes about Muslims are stupidly false????

Anyways society generally seems to have a problem with people not wearing ENOUGH. This is as ultimately as stupid as when people were also "concerned" about some Hasidic Jewish Rabbis who were boarding a plane (to which another thread erupted on).

Democracies should represent the opinion of the majority so as long as the rights of minorities are not abrogated at all. Another way to put it: Democracies by nature serves the voices of the majority, so its true function is to protect the rights of the minorities

bleh too p&n for me. Who likes cake?

Well, Muslims are scary because of the actions of other Muslims. I am all for tolerance and Kumbaya and stuff, but I have only 1 life and I will not take any risks...
So, even though being scared makes me look silly, I will not take any chances.
It is OK to be afraid.
🙂

looks like the terrorists have won

Seems a bit off.

So if I'm not happy with a black guy sitting next to me i can get him kicked off?
Or those kids at the back?

What about Nuns? Shit always happens when there's Nuns on a plane.

You could pretty much tell coming into this thread which ATOT retards would defend the actions of the airline in this case. I remain unsurprised.

"Two Muslims get on a flight to North Carolina...<insert body of joke>...To which the flight attendant replied, 'When pigs fly!'".

Once the passengers are on the plane, they have all been screened. Unless they are causing a disturbance or act in a way to endanger the flight, they have every rights to remain on board. Those who are not comfortable with this have every rights to get off the plane.

Would have been 'funny' if the plane would have crashed and all in it would have been killed after refusing them. But there clearly is no justice.

This is post 9/11 where we have no rights. But at least the country has semi-evolved and isn't just rounding up all Muslims into camps like they did with Japanese Americans in the past.

He is obviously an Atheist, kind of hard to "rip that apart" considering that is the only rational and logical choice.

It doesn't change the fact that he is an idiot though.

No, agnosticism is the only rational and logical choice. Atheism is just another religion.
