"A lawyer for the two men said he was looking into a possible lawsuit - but his clients really just wanted additional sensitivity training for the pilot."

If they actually get this worked out in this fashion I give props to Masudur Rahman and Mohamed Zaghloul.

I don't agree with how they were treated, but will gain even more respect for them if they don't file suit.

I think paranoia has been heightened since the death of OBL, and we are all on the lookout for terrorist revenge more than ever. Unfortunately these innocent Muslim men got the brunt of it.

While researching this incident I have also read that this was all TSA's doing. They made the pilot return to the terminal, and then their agents boarded the plane and started searching the overhead bins. Something must've tipped off their concern. Maybe it was more than the men being Muslim.

""That seems more reasonable to me," said McKinney, 38, who was traveling for business. "Why would the pilot pull away from the gate if he had a concern with the passengers?"

Of course, because anything more would mean he needs to get out of his house, vote, and actually talk to people.

If this guy actually spoke like this in social situations or at work it would be hilarious. Find out somebody goes to church? Unleash the rage!

If it is someone I know, I will respect the person. If it is someone I don't know, I leave them alone. If it is a stranger coming up to me on the street that tries to push their bs on me, they get to hear what I have to say. If they want to exercise their freedom of speech, I will do the same.

Exactly. And that is why religion shouldn't be allowed to spread. The more the disease spreads, the more rights will be stripped from others that don't share their beliefs.

And no, the answer is not, just move away from the crazy people.
You sound just like one of the "crazy people".

There are quite a few reasons why people believe in a higher power and none of them are good reasons. And this pandering and play along doesn't help matters. If we want to progress as a society, this shit has to stop.

And the only reason you don't think these people are crazy, is because they've been doing their crazy shit for so long it's become "normal" to you. I mean what else would you call people that drink their own God's blood every Sunday? I call it crazy.

I think religion is silly as well. I don't know how anyone can pick a religion and say "my invisible friend is the correct invisible friend, your belief's are not correct." But, attitudes don't change over night with this type of thing. I've found a lot of people tend to think based more so on emotion than logic. I don't think they're crazy, I just think that they're wasting their time and putting faith in something that does not exist... at least not how they think it does. Once people aren't afraid to anger some kind of higher power and really look into what they believe in and question it, I think they'll realize it's just plain dumb. Again, I don't think they're lunatics, just ignorant of the facts and resistant to change.

What I find is funny is how some of our more cowardly types (based on other things they post) are always so GUNG-HO about defying authority and showing no fear...

I can guarantee half the above that stated everyone else is just a bunch of pussies, I could sit next too and make them feel extremely unsafe and they would more than likely seek help or ask to be moved. Yet I would have done nothing illegal.

Dude... this is Tennessee we're talking about. Anywhere below Maryland/DC = Racist/Bigot turf.

Maryland and DC are below the Mason Dixon line....

Have you been to these places? just as many racists/bigots as you'll find, well, anywhere.

From a legal standpoint, does this privately owned company have the right to choose who it does business with? Do they have the right to choose who will and will not be allowed in their privately owned aircraft? Do they have the right to remove persons from their personal private property as they deem fit?

Here's a hint, the answer is Yes to all three.

I await the arrival of the white supremacist airline then. 😎

Holy fick Batman!

Who the fuck is allowing this shit.

They are fucking obviously terrorists.

well, they certainly have their right to speak out. Rest assured, though, that being in Merry 'ol England, Big Brother is all over them. 😀

lol at tag: londonistan.

🙂

Mommie! Alky is cyber-bullying again!

waaaaaa!

I'm not a blond caucasian, so I empathize with these guys who got kicked off. If I had been on that plane, I'd have walked off myself to protest the puddle-jumper pilot's actions.

I arrived in CLT later the same day (Friday). There were a few groups of Muslim men in traditional dress in the airport. I'm guessing they did not fly Delta. 🙄

Sure it was. The employee of the company, the pilot, is tasked with certain job functions and is compensated for these actions. He or she is acting as an agent of the company. One of those job functions is to regulate passengers aboard the aircraft, identify passengers which could be a liability to the operation of the aircraft, the company and the passengers, and remove them.

Yet, if was acting against company policy?

I'm pretty sure Delta isn't going to support this individual pilot's decision.

Hooper said officials re-screened them and found they were no threat.

While officials tried to get the men back on the plane, "the pilot absolutely refused and ultimately took off," Hooper said.
Doesn't compute as stated.

I'll bet the pilot (and his airline) had a schedule to try and adhere to and the plane was already cleared or about to be cleared for takeoff when the Dept of Homeyland Insecurity Sturmabteilung told him they could re-board.

Think about it.

No pilot is going to otherwise refuse passengers specifically cleared by the Feds, if only because he would know the PR hit his employers would take and who they would then hold responsible.

Poor exposition choice in the article. In these days of instant news, journalism standards have suffered mightily.

Wouldnt it be better if the muslims travelled in western clothing and then change into traditional dress once they reach their terrorist meet?

Surely they must realize that they unfortunately fit a criminal profile.

I admire France for banning the burqa ( the face rag that they make their woman wear)

Cowards... This is what America's turned into. This is what happens when you let the government run your life, and protect you from evil ladders, coffee cups, and people that dress funny. It turns your brain to mush, and makes you a fearful little mouse. I'd love to die with my hands around someone's neck, and a radical trying to take a plane would be the PERFECT opportunity. Take control of your lives people. The world's a dangerous place, and it's up to YOU to handle it. Not mommy, not the government, and not the guy next to you. It's YOUR responsibility :^S

Fucking WIN!

Hrm a post stereotyping others in a thread about... yeah.

I didn't explicitly say that all southerners are racists or bigots.
What I meant to say is that there are a hell of a lot more of them down there then there are here.

Why the hell should they have to dress differently just to please a few morons? The problem isn't their clothing, it is stupid people and the media.
