level 2101? is that star-trek physics?

no, LSU uses 4 digit course numbers:

1xxx is freshman level
2xxx is sophomore
etc

physics 1100 is the entry-level pre-calculus physics (what most people would take in high school)

physics 2101 and 2102 are next for non physics students (mostly engineers) that covers calculus based physics including kinematics, electricity and magnetism, optics, and wave motion.

2101 is ridiculously hard. to give you an idea, i got a 5 on the Calculus AP exam in highschool, and on one of the 2101 tests, i got a 32% which turned out to be a B after the curve😕

Nonono, you see, you have to shave yourself completely, preferably Nair bath. Then, have a friend use something of butter-knife sharpness to scrape all of your skin so that none falls off.

Awesome! I'll be the first to try this method. Now, any volunteers for scraping my body all over with a butterknife?

:Q

Scuff marks on the walls are indicators of a break-in in a university office setting? Around here, they're usually indicators of an IT technician trying to find where the rat (aka the HVAC technicians) chewed through a bundle of fiber.

Then, put on a full body wetsuit, rubber gloves ( no laces!), and rubber boots. Also put on a shower cap, and cover your face with something. Then, spray everything with Lysol liberally. Bingo! You're ready to infiltrate.

You've watched Gattaca one too many times.

Using information on test grades provided by LSU academic officials, LSU Police focused on Klein and Ranson because their grades on the final exam were higher than the average score of all the students.

Would about 50% of the scores be higher then the average?

I'll do it 😱

I got to hand it to the kids, at least they had a cool plan. But, they weren't Jason Bourne like and did not remove anything they touched.

Not usually, well not in most college courses (which almost always form a two-humped camel distribution). You are thinking of the median, where 50% of the scores are above the median score.

Try these numbers for example (assuming the test is as hard as people above mention):
20%, 30%, 35%, 70%.

Average score = 38.75%. Only one score there is above average, all of the rest of the scores are below average.

yeah...in my comparable physics course there were a few who got 80s and 90s, but the median was in 40s. If these kidsgot above average, they likely went from like 30% to 60%

I wonder if the office door could be opened from the inside, even while locked? Now THAT would have been hilarious.

Seriously though, the guys should have also stolen a computer. Then no one would have paid any attention to the final exam.

I think the ones in that hall have a latch lock on the inside. He could have got out, but would have had to leave the door unlocked.

I actually had that professor. She was impossible. Her english was terrible and her lectures were even worse.

I was in her 2102 class for one lecture. After struggling to understand her I got out of there and signed up for another section. That class was in the lower floor of Lockett too, I hated that building.

WHAT AN IDIOT!!! If you're going to break into an office, bring a ****** camera... take a lot of pictures and get the f*ck out. One break in... 15 minutes max.

If it was mission impossible style they wouldn't have left scuff marks.

also a higher score than class average proves nothing. Its an average there are likely to have students scoring higher than the average.

If the score was higher than the averages of their previous tests then maybe.

they should not have admitted to anything. Only thing that hurts them is if the guy left fingerprints around the scuff marks.

anywhere else with in reason in the teachers office can be explained via one of them visiting the teacher.
