Two Logitech Z560 Systems? What would it do?

Would my system become twice as loud? I know dB is a log scale, so just marginally louder or what?

The reason I ask is that a friend let me borrow his pair for a while, cause he doesn't think it sounds as nice as my pair. I'm in need or driving to a store to get a y-splitter so I can get them both hooked up. I'm curious as to what this will do though. My bass is maximized at 3 walls under the sink in my bathroom, I get bass "surrounding" my room. I'm going to have to double up in there now to give it a good comparison between the speakers.

I'm also pretty curious as to what this will do to my power in my room. When I pump my pair (only) my computer UPS kicks in for whatever reason. LOL. Hope I have more than 15amp wiring in my dorm!!

i thought having 2 set of sub-woofers cancel out each other when running both at a same time?

anyway.. maybe your friend has a sucky sound card?

my dorm room had crazy power.. we had an insane amount of stuff plugged in and running at once and never had a power problem. i'm sure you'll be fine.

although, i have also heard that running two subwoofers can sound really crappy unless you have them setup / positions correctly

Yes, theoretically your system would double in SPL (+3 dB). It may or may not sound twice as loud, though.

Speaker placement, room shape, the materials the room is made of, what's in the room, etc. can all affect the sound.

Maybe you shouldn't be running your speakers from the UPS?

No, in this situation running two subs at the same time won't result in zero/very low levels of sound, because they're running the exact same signal.

set up an 8.2 surround sound system? front and rear subs, and 8 points of sound around you!

Not running them from the UPS. They are on the same line though, as I don't have an extention cord yet. That's what I meant when I said it kicked in. Wonder how much current I'm actually pulling. :D
