Hey all -

Have a vtech 2 line phone... One jack on the phone is labelled "L1 / L1+L2" and the other is labelled L2.

I have my 1st line plugged into L1 and my 2nd line plugged into the jack for L2.

My L1 has caller id, my L2 does not. When L1 ALONE is plugged in, called id works fine for L1. When I have line 2 plugged into L2, caller id info is not displayed for L1 anymore.

The same thing happens when I swap the lines and put my caller id line into L2 and my non caller id line into L1.

Anyone ever run into something like this before? It's really ticking me off...

Guess you could try using a two-line splitter (L1/L2 to L1 and L2) backwards:

Hook L1 into the L1 "output" of the splitter.
Hook L2 into the L2 "output" of the splitter.
Hook a 4-conductor phone line to the "input" of the splitter.
Hook the other end of the 4-conductor phone line to the L1/L2 input of the Vtech phone.
Don't use the second (L2) input on the Vtech.
