The savings is in the time, getting both kids seen at once. So, next time:

1) make two separate appts
2) leave one at home
3) stfu and be happy doc will see both at same time

I am guessing if doc made you do 1), we would still have a thread of some sort.

PS: best of health to your kids, hope they are better soon. Sick children == PITA.

Stupid thread. The doc needs to submit two claims to the insurance in order to collect payment. Plus, for record keeping, in case one of your kids has a reaction to prescribed medicine, ends up in a hospital etc... etc... etc..., proper patient accounting needs to be kept. Also because of hippaa regulations, your kids needs to be filed seperately. According to that law, neither sibling is permitted to see each other's medical records. And finally the doc's malpractice insurance needs to have each patient documented for. Yes you can complain about your 1.5x the time spent for 1 visit involving two kids, but you really don't know anything about how a doctor's business runs.

Liability.

/thread

If the doc did it properly, they both had appointments scheduled at different times (probalby offset by 10 or 15 minutes). If it makes you feel better, you could take one kid back to the room first, then walk out, wait for them to clean the room then walk back in.

charge for one visit or for two customers (johns)?

I think the key here is simple.

Your doctor treated you just like 99% of doctors treat their patients.

Why do so many people think that special treatment should be the norm?
