Anyone know the quality of the flowers? I'd be nice to see the flowers first.

1-800 typically uses local floral shops to fufill the orders (at least they have from my experiences)

So the quality could vary...

My mom used to work at a floral shop. 1800flowers just works as a middle man. They do nothing but take your order, call up a local florist and tell them what to make from the order and ship it out. The quality just depends on how well the mom & pop stores in your area work. So the $10 shipping is not much of a deal either since they're just delivering it across town.

I have no idea what the typical price for 2 dozen roses is, but before ordering from 1800flowers I would check the prices of local shops first.

If you are going to deliver the flowers yourself.....Costco has 2 Doz. long stem roses everyday for $12.99 (except holidays then they jack it up like $5). I couldn't believe this. My sister-in-law brings them to me when it's my wife's birthday, aniversary etc. I thought I was getting a good deal at A.M. P.M. for $5 for a 1/2 doz. I can't even find those anymore. Sometimes at the freeway offramp after work the venders will have 1/2 doz. for $5, but a don't always look the greatest. The Costco roses may not be top quality(??) but are are good enough for my wife, lol. They actually look very good, especially for the price. By the way I don't belong to Costco, so there's an added expense. It's fun being cheap, lol. 🙂

To send flowers locally for my girl, they cost $54 shipped for one dozen.

If anyone is interested in getting the percentage commission from eBates it is 6% back. www.ebates.com

Search for product 2274 at the site.

Total after ebates should be $29.74*.94 = $27.96 + $10 shipping = $37.96 shipped. Not a bad deal at all. Thanks to the original poster!

These flowers would have to be extremely good in order to justify this purchase. Tom Thumb has a dozen roses for $9.99, usually pretty nice overall (at least early in the mornings when I've gotten some lately)

Well i did this last week, so i'll share:
ordered on a saturday, 2 dozen reds, with 15% off, nice price. del. date was on tuesday, they couldnt do it on mondays. tracked it from (ecuador as the flowers say) to ft. lauderdale to miami to newark to their final destination, the DC area. got there at 11am, 12 hrs after they started, and they were beat up bad. half died with 2 days. oh, and there were only 23 to start with... which bothered me a lot. needless to say i had to call customer service, but i dont think it was their fault, as much as fedex maybe. but they always make good on their satisfaction guaranteed claim. usually their roses are very very nice. last time i ordered from their the recipient said they were perfect. we'll see how round two goes this time.

got mine in, most looked pretty good, only 1 or two older ones in the bunch.... didn't count to make sure they were all there...will do that tomorrow.
