Recently there was a great deal on the Logitech Cordless Freedom Navigator keyboard and mouse set at overstock for about $24 ($31 - $10 coupon + $4 for shipping = $25). The set sold out VERY quickly BUT NOW IT IS BACK IN STOCK! There is no longer a $10 off $30 coupon but there is a
$20 off $60 coupon for www.overstock.com

So, here's the deal:
1) apply to get the coupon (needs to be a "new account" which means use a different email address than you have in the past and set up a new account with that address).
2) Add two (2) sets for your cart and apply the coupon making your order total about $45 with shipping (shipping is $4).
3) wait for you dirt cheap cordless mouse and keyboard to arive then give one away as a ultra geeky present this holiday.
4) lay back on couch feeling good about giving while you watch the Simpsons.

These things used to go for over $100 for a set so two for $45 seems pretty hot to me.

<EDIT> Another coupon code I came across gives free shipping on your "first" purchase. LINK TO FREE SHIPPING Not sure about this part, someone let me know if this works, eh?

Yeah,

I'm a first time customer at Overstock. I think the first order from them includes free shipping, there's a banner ad at the top of the site.

Thanks nynate, I was adding that info to the origional post at the same time you were mentioning it. Thanks again though, now it's in the first post. I WAS WRONG about the shipping being included, I'm sorry 'bout that; BUT with the free shipping for first timers this should make the total about $46, I'll change the topic subject header accordingly . . .

<< FYI factory reconditioned >>

Yeah, I got in on this about a month ago and my stuff arrived in new condition, no scratches on plastic slide pads of mouse, no dust in the keyboard (tried that air in a can stuff, nothing came out of the keyboard).

The stuff actually shipped from JustDeals.com who have the same things for sale and about the same prices (but shipping is much higher and there are no discount coupons so it's more expensive).

From 6' away from my computer,
Abe

Free shipping appears to be only on a handful of items, not this one, though...Still a great deal. Thanks, Abe!

Thanks!

Got the $40 set for a gift for the folks and added a (almost free after $20 coupon) DVD for me!

Gotta love Christmas shopping on AT!

Not quite as good of a deal, but if you want, get the Cordless Optical mouse and same iTouch keyboard for $45 shipped, using the same process.

I guess it's up to you to decide which is better...two cordless mouse (mice) and an extra keyboard, or one cordless, optical mouse. I went with the latter.

Thanks for the post. I got 2 with a total of $45.98 including free shiping. Site was a little tricky in that you check in for the $20 coupon as a new customer and then when checking out you must register as a return customer.:)

I think you can use dual mouse. I just plugged my MS Optical Mouse into my USB port, and my Kensington Trackball in Serial works at the same time

The hot deal for me on this site was to get the cordless Itouch keyboard and the cordless Logitech optical mouse for $46 delivered. I didn't need or want a ball-based cordless mouse.

Btw, for those lazy, indolent computer users like me, I use a La-Z Boy type recliner in front of my computer. When I am web browsing, I use an optical mouse on the cushioned arm and keep my keyboard in my lap. For gaming, I place a 36" length of 1/4" plywood (Baltic Birch, the kind that has no voids and is incredibly stiff) across the armrests and set my keyboard and mousepad on that. Very comfy--even more comfy than one of those $600 Aero deskchairs. The computer "desk" is a $25 heavy-duty folding table, so this setup is very cheap as well as comfortable.

raiders710, you can use multiple mice and other input controllers at the same time. The best way to do this is through USB connections. For various reasons, I've collected about 7 or 8 high-quality mice, and they all seem to have their uses at various times. I've got the Logitech 3 and 4-button "Ifeel" mice, which are good for games that support the "Immersion" force-feedback technology. I've got a Logitech regular cordless wheel mouse, and now, on the way, an optical Mouseman cordless. And I've got a Saitek mouse that has an extra 8-way hat switch, and the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer (handy for its 5 buttons). And last and sort of least, my favorite everyday mouse is the cheapest of all, a $15 Logitech corded 3-button optical mouse that is incredibly lightweight and fits my hand just right.

Anyway, you can have multiple mice hooked simultaneously. If you are wondering, if you move one mouse right and another left, the computer will average the inputs and keep your cursor pretty much stationary. You can always use a USB hub and "hot swap" your USB peripherals, if you only want to keep one at a time plugged in.

*Gone!* :( Was holding out for the optical/sleek black version, but those are still hovering at $80 for the cheapest on pwatch.
