two computers...same content

Hi,

I hope this is the right forum... anyways:
I do all my work on my Laptop currently because I'm somewhat of a road warrior, and I'm not always at my desk, but when I get to my desk, I would much rather work on my desktop. The reason for this is because my laptop is a 800mhz with 512mb ram, whereas my desktop is a 3.2ghz with 2gb ram.

Anyway, is there a way to have the exact same content on both computers easily sync with each other? So they are identical in the setup, and what I'm most concerned about is the e-mail, if it's possible to have the e-mail data stored identically, so when I access outlook on my laptop it's the same as my desktop?

Maybe there's a program out there, maybe not. Any solutions/suggestions to my delima? Thank you.

They got these cool new memory sticks out now that can pretty much make any computer you plug it into just like the one you prefer to use. For instance you can save your settings from your laptop(we're talking outlook, other email services, desktop icons, everything I believe) onto the memory stick, then when you plug it into your desktop, it will sync everything to what your laptop was setup like, and you're good to go.

I forget the name of the product. And maybe there's more than one brand of it. Just saw it in a magazine today. I would imagine someone else on the forum knows what i'm talking about.

Edit: And welcome to the forums.

Using an IMAP server instead of POP for your email should solve any problems in that department (if there is one available, of course 😱).
