Two boys, aged 10 and 12 are to blame for a brush fire that burned at least 2,000 acres here in SW Florida.

OOPS! Sure glad that's not my kids...How much do you think that will cost the parents? Most likely, they will be responsible for ALL firefighting costs, loss of the acreage, as well as the homes destroyed...

In that case, I guess I should be executed as well, since I accidentally started a brush fire when I was about 10.

May be someday you'll accidentally rear-end someone at a stopsign, then he can shoot you in the face for damaging his property. I'm sure that'll seem fair.

The spoiled children of today are never going to learn their lesson with a few months of juvinile hall or their parents paying millions of dollars. Kill them painfully and show every child in school pictures of it. The bastards need to finally learn their lesson.

EDIT: What did your brushfire destroy?

Yeah, I started a fire with a bottle rocket as a kid too and lit a field on fire. I also called the fire department before it got too big to handle.

I've been through a fire before... there is no worse feeling than having all your sh!t burnt up... believe me on this one. :(

EDIT: What did your brushfire destroy?

It destroyed about half an acre of tall grass, but that's not the point. If it had spread farther and burned down a nearby house, it still would have been completely accidental, and even though I didn't destroy anything of value, I still felt pretty horrible about it. Despite the fact that I wasn't executed for it, nor did I go to juvenile hall for it, I somehow seemed to have "learned my lesson" as I haven't started any more brush fires since then.

That's different. If it got under control easily, what's the most it could've damaged? $10,000 worth of property at the worst? That can be easily paid off. This brush fire? Pfft, I'm betting it's at least $25,000,000.

You may have learned a lesson and they may have learned a lesson, but have all of the other brats in this country learned a lesson? There's always going to be idiots doing stuff like this unless we kill them.

EDIT: And once again, half an acre isn't that much.

Horray for communism! Fvck the individual for society's sake. Let's kill little kids because HamburgerBoy thinks it'll make America a better place.

BTW - did you pay attention to the news when you were 10? Even if these kids were executed, the number of other 10 year olds across the country who even heard about it would be pretty small.

Edit: and the amount burned has a LOT more to do with the season and wind conditions at the time than the kids intention. The amount of money that it costs to replace the houses really isn't relevant as far as the kids intentions or irresponsibilty is concerned.

It's not about the money... it's about 15 families out on their asses with nothing but the clothes they are wearing. And people could have easily died. I have no compassion for arsonists as it is extremely destructive and many times lethal.

The fire I started accidentally, and had the fire department come and put out, only burned up an acre or so but could've burned down dozens of houses if I hadn't called the fire department immediately. Even at that young age, and this was before my own fire tragedy, I knew I had to get that fire put out. These little tards ran and hid and "hoped it would all go away"... those same "hope it goes away" skills should suit them in prison when they are now the victim.

Sorry if this sounds harsh but until you get all your stuff burnt up you have no idea.

Wow, you've experienced every single feeling that a human is capable of, and know that having your stuff burned up is the worst?

That's amazing! I really would have thought that having your entire family killed in front of you, or all your friends hunted down and killed like dogs, or being slowly tortured to death over the course of months, would be a worse feeling.

Don't be a dick. How about I kill your family in front of you to test this theory of yours?

It sucks, believe me. I hope you suffer a fire that burns down your house and burns up all your possessions and then I can mock you. :p

Not sure if the article mentions it but there at least 1000 homes without power right now because of the fire. Many more were without power until today.

edit: Text

Utility offiicials say 1,700 homes lost power during the fire, but 500 of those had been restored as of Sunday morning.

I'm sorry, I've just been reading my friends' Liberia blog. It really puts things into perspective....I don't doubt that losing all your possessions is an AWFUL feeling, but while it's certainly a crushing blow, in this country people have insurance and relatives with at least some money and maybe some government aid. In other countries, when you lose everything, it's truly EVERYTHING.

Posters of the dead children can be made and hung in every classroom. And how cares if wind made in worse? It wouldn't have happened at all if he wasn't a punk.

Yes, let's steal from the taxpayer to pay for these subhuman filth. No. The children and the parents should have everything of value taken from them. Work them as slaves or in arenas and make them raise money. Once they pay back the victims, torture and kill them.
