I was ice fishing once and had one way bigger than that swoop down not 20ft from me to swipe the pickerel I had just thrown in the snow. My friends and I were in awe, 6ft wing span easy, and we all felt the down wash of air from his hover and snatch. There were about 20 of them chilling in a huge pine just watching us, waiting. 3 or 4 of them were gigantic, I remember people saying they didn't know eagles got that big.


And they're surprisingly noisy, the whole time we could hear them squabbling with each other.


We sure these guys were fighting? They could have been fucking.
