Perks, I think the problem is with your delivery and awkwardly inserted laugh track. Timing is very important.

When I want to laugh I watch Archer or Modern Family or Community or any of a number of actually smart and funny shows, not the tired-ass clusterfuck of unimaginative and derivative mediocrity that Two and a Half Men is.

Not to mention that PBS has generally jumped the shark. Premium, and even basic cable took its lunch money, gave it a wedgy, and shoved it in its locker some years ago now.

Try to keep up, k? 😉

But, who knows, maybe you are really drawn to shows with stupidly obnoxious laugh tracks, "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA."

Each to his own, "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA."

I can't stand them, "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA."

When I want some fair approximation of "intense intellectual and artistic integrity" on TV (that was said sarcastically in my OP in regards to 2 & 1/2, you know), that's where I go, cable, where Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad and Mad Men all are, not the bascially uncompetitive backwater that PBS has sadly become.

Blah,blah,blah,blah blah😵

Two and a Half Men is probably the only show that I do watch that's on Network TV and I actually only have watched the reruns on TBS or what ever cable station that shows them. I personally think it's funny because in my mind that show mimics Charlie Sheens real life which is obviously a clusterfuck. The fact that he's basicaly void of any redeeming qualities in real life and as the character of Charlie Harper is what strikes my funny bone.

I don't particlarly find Archer, Modern Family or Community that entertaining or funny but that doesn't mean they aren't to others, they just aren't my cup of tea.

A mega-huge premiere was a given, the key question is what happens when the buzz wears off?

The show's ratings drop and the final season happens whenever the actors' contracts are up so that CBS doesn't have to buy them out if they cancel it prematurely.

Out of curiosity, none of those shows appeal to you? I figured Modern Family would be the most cross-over ish, but of those three I would think one would be mildly amusing/entertaining.

Two and a half men was a guilty pleasure of mine for awhile, it was enough to get a laugh and didn't require any thought to get through. It's not great TV and I wouldn't recommend it as such, but I can see why people like(d) it.

Usually the only comedies that appeal to me are on the Premium Chanels. I didn't even start watching Two and a Half Men until this spring when I went over to my friends house every Friday and he always watched it so I started.

I don't recall ever saying it was great. IMO there hasn't been a great TV show on any of the Big Three Networks in a long time. Some that Perk mentioned such as Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad plus Justified, SOA, Entourage, Dextar, Weeds and the like are more to my liking and what I would classify as quality TV..well in my unqualified opinion😛

I have a feeling that the show is going to devolve into Alan helping Walden to become a grown-up to win his wife back.

Ugh, that episode was disgusting. Neither me or my friends laughed a single time, there was nothing funny.. just stupid.
