Hi,

I am purchasing a 512 SLI config today. I am going for a asus A8n32 SLI mobo, in a CM Praetorian aluminum case. s12 600W PSU.

The case will have a level 4 typhoon cooling system with 4 surround case fan (quoting the website I am buying from). Do you know if one of these fans will be cooling the GPU especially? Is there any easy to mount (on a 2x512 SLI) solution that would cool it better if I find heat issues?

Thanks for any input!

Good job, I'd think that would be OK, a great case as well.

Thank you :)

I cannot find any information on that "level 4 typhoon cooling system" thing. I think it's just 4 fans on the case. Just no idea if one of them is for the GPUs :(

Doesn't matter dude- it's probably something like two 80's in front intake, two in back outflow. Should be sufficient. If you don't think it is, grab a Xaser like I have. Two 60's in front intake, two 60s over the video cards outflow, two 60s on side over video card outflow, and one on top of case outflow. Air moves through my box.

When they tell you to hand over your first-born, make sure they tell you about the fan setup. I'm sure a sales rep would know (or should).

Good review, thank you. I'm still a little worried about heat on the graphic cards. I jsut read they are pretty thick in size. Anyone knows if there is enough air space between the two 512 cards in SLI for air to circulate? It's on an asus A8N32-SLI motherboard.

I guess I might be paranoid. I have been plagued with heat problems with my laptop. It was a great system 2 years ago, for gaming (one of the good alienware at the time). But after 6 months it started switching off on its own all the time whenever I played a game for more than 20 minutes... I'd hate to see this happen again.

Anyway, thanks again for the input!

Few people have two 7800GTX 512 in SLI. Mainly due to availability and price of the card. Reviews I have seen didnt state any problem as long as the case is well ventilated with air flow. Now if you are going to add another PCI card of some type (sound card for example) in addition to it...definetly gonna have problems I think.
