Needed a couple of cd-rom and found this deal.
Staples had a coupon at t***bargains.com ($25 off $75). Staples also had Delta 50x MAX for 39.98 with $20 mail in rebate. Fill out online rebates forms and got confirmation on both. Free shipping also for over $50.

The Staples rebate says: "Limit one rebate per name/family/address." It sounds like you put in for two rebates.

I'll see!! They sent confirmation for both rebate forms I filled out online. I thought I would get one kicked back. Still the worst will be 37.43 for two of these cd-roms shipped.

Do Not, I repeat do not get that Delta.
I got it and it sucked so bad I sent it back.
It sounds like a jet engine starting up cold.
You will be so unhappy.
Also startup on it takes for ever.
My 16x Goldstar blew it away.
Save yourself some headache and pass.

I have the Delta, and it's not that bad. I had an old Compaq IDE 32x that that much noiser. The drive is a little slower starting up that my Teac 16x SCSI was, but it's better than the Compaq 32x IDE. Once it gets going, it's fast.

Not the greatest drive for audio extraction though.

I agree with Oldcycles. This drive sucks big time. I bought at a B/M Staples and within 3 weeks the drive died on me. The good thing is that I returned it and I still got the $20 rebate.

Don't get the memorex either!! That cd-rom is loud and annoying beyond belief. I pissed my roommate off all the time just by loading a music CD.
