twitter is ridiculous... don't waste your time

This was in one of my friend's Facebook statuses and thought it was an interesting statement.

1. I think twitter is sort of dumb, but it has a purpose among some people. I wouldn't call it ridiculous.
2. Who is she to say what is a waste of time? She is on Facebook...
3. Does she not realize that Twitter is Facebook status minus everything else? She is basically using her Facebook status to "tweet" about the uselessness of Twitter.

What are you opinions on this statement?
 
Twitter is just a medium, it all depends on who's writing the material.

Status messages can be pretty amusing if the author is insightful and can deliver good one-liners. I think people just project the worst of it and focus on the idiots that update everyone on their bowel movements or that they're going to buy groceries.
 
I think you need some bigger things in life to worry about than your "friend" (read: random chick that added you becase she thought you were her friend's little brother)'s facebook status.
 
Twitter is useless for personal purposes, but for quick news from businesses and such it can be useful.

I agree it's a medium just like a website, blog, or Facebook status. Some Facebook statuses are hilarious but most are about useless crap no one cares about. I feel Twitter is pretty similar to Facebook statuses.

Twitter isn't as useless as Facebook, Facebook is basically Twitter with pictures and retarded "YOUR TOP FIVE [BLANK]" poles. Facebook is the most worthless site on the internet. twitter is worthless but not quite as bad. It's like facebook lite.

pretty much, but if I had to chose Twitter is the lesser of the 2 evils. I think a lot of FBers just put "check out my Twitter!" for their status anyways lol
