Exactly, if he figured out the podcast model which no one really has then it would be copied by everyone else including Adam Carolla who is making money by doing live shows and charging the audience or as an Amazon affiliate.

I have heard him say how much he makes salary, that is after paying expenses..not to mention he brags about buying every new tech item, I weep for him

On one of his podcasts he was saying each ad is about 10k
 
The network is definitely profitable. At one point he decided to pay himself through donations and he was getting 10-20k a month.
 
I don't listen to any of his podcasts anymore. Only thing I watch on that network is the PcPer stream. Usually I don't watch it live either. I just look at the recording on Justin.tv. That's not a twit network thing either.

I used to listen to Windows Weekly, but he's having some other gal come on a lot... And it's died in content pretty well. It used to be funny and good, but now it's just lackluster. TWIT is the same except it died a year before that at least. I remember when it had people like Kevin Rose and some others from techtv on it... they made it entertaining.

All of the shows just got old and boring or lost all good content/people. I really don't like a lot of the people he brings on. They're not good people for these kinds of things. I like when he has Om Malik on TWIT though. Om is one of those guys who doesn't usually comment on things like how most people in the show do (Full of BS), and that shows nicely on him.

Yeah I didn't really know who he was at first. I think I watched an episode of Late Night Tech.

As far as what happened. Well I don't know Leo Laporte behind the scenes. I assume most people don't know him in real life. He might be a real jerk.

I like a lot of Actors & Actresses but try not to focus on there personal lives as they are never as humble as we would assume them to be.

His reasoning for getting rid of Erik is his own business. It's his network and he can do whatever he wants. It does seem he kinda made up excuses publicly as to why he did. Which yes he should have kept his reasoning to himself.

I guess Leo left his Wife for that Lisa chick and she has pretty much become co-owner of Twit. She never cared for this Erik person. So Leo had to go along with it?

Also it seems Leo felt threatened by him being better because he is like 22 and Leo took 30 years to get where he's at.

Well what's done is done. I'm sure this Erik person will find work somewhere else. He was really good at Late Night Tech. You can watch some episodes on his YouTube page.

I usually watch Tech News Today.

I do like Tom Merritt so if he becomes Leos replacement. I'm fine with that. However I can't imagine Twit without Leo? I do see Tom getting more gigs on Twit. Well he has already.

I heard and I cannot confirm 100% but I guess if you work at Twit then Cnet & Revision 3 won't hire you because of Twit taking talent from those networks? I cannot confirm this.

Yeah TNT, Frame Rate, Twit and sometimes Twig are the main shows I check out. There is a lot of them. Hard to make time for all of them lol.

eh considering what he edited together from that video he seems like some kind of passive aggressive creep. if he thought he was under paid he should have made his demands or walked instead of being a bitch about it.

saddest bit is where he edits together a bunch of radio praise for him as if that means something, people gush about people in radio and such media as self promotion/time filler, like every actor gushes about how the film they are about to release is so wonderful and how everyone was so wonderful and talented to work with.... kind of nailed what kind of person he was with that kind of inclusion.
 
Laporte is a dumbass. The dude bought a 60" Pioneer Kuro display and couldn't figure out how to turn it on so he returned it thinking it was broken. This dude is giving tech advice to people? Seriously?

Tom is okay but on TWiT he bores me compared to Leo. I will have to listen to some old late night tech episodes.

I was trying to figure out if Leo was still married, I assumed not since he never mentioned her.

Lisa Bettany is her name, she is a photographer and did get a show on his network very quickly. She is also the Canuck who left the US and the US would not let her back in since she over stayed her time here without renewing her visa/greencard/whatever it is she is required to have.
 
I was on their show when they covered CES. They stopped by my booth and did a piece for iPad today on Cinefy. Really nice guy, great to meet him in person!
