Twin Peaks - what a beautifully crafted show

I have gotten hooked to it. It surely has to be one of the best TV shows ever. Interesting characters, weirdness, well written dialogues, not to mention one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard, including the hauntingly beautiful theme music

I can't believe this show ever got made, that too 25 years ago. Most TV shows are so predictable and formulaic. This is anything but, on so many levels. I can see why it still has a huge fan following, and a 9 IMDB rating.

This is getting revived.

Was listening to the theme just the other day; freaking love it.

I can't get enough of it. I always fast forward opening credits of any show, but this one, I don't. Because of the theme music.

But not just the theme music. The other music is beautiful too, and how artistically it has been integrated into the show. It raises the level of the show from a TV show to a very well thought out and artistic movie. I am very impressed.

Such a great show. Art direction and writing on that show were leagues better than anything else on tv in those days.

This show is on Netflix. Apart from Breaking Bad, it is the only show there that I've found worth watching. Oh, also Sherlock. That's it

Oh yeah, Shannon Tweed... Some peaks on her. Good times, good times...

Wait, we're not taking about the movie?

I was too young when it first aired, have noticed it is now on Netflix, though, and is recommended for me. Might have to watch it.

Never seen it. Maybe I'll check it out in the future. Probably nothing like Twin Peaks, but I really liked Northern Exposure. I had... acquired all the episodes, but they got lost in a failed hd. Maybe that'll be a project this weekend; go buy the Northern Exposure box set.

Edit:
The reason I mentioned Northern Exposure was because it was kind of quirky and weird. Sounds like Twin Peaks has some similar elements.

There are similarities, small town quirkiness, local eccentrics, things like that. But TP is pretty dark, disturbing and weird, with some comedy elements. NE never got that dark or suspenseful.

I remember that it was a popular show when it first aired but I didn't watch it (too young?). I watched it last year or so and didn't really enjoy it. I think I watched about half the episodes then read wikipedia to see how it ended for closure.

I love log lady.

I will check out both Northern Exposure and Psychoville. I see that the latter is a dark comedy and a BBC production - chances are it would be good.

Maybe I'm too young to appreciate this show...but what makes it so good? I got through half of the first season before I quit it. I couldn't get past all the weird shit that was going on with the random bits involving the dancing midget, the bad acting from the detective....and the music.

Maybe Ill try to watch it again.

I think it might have been better if you watched it when it aired. but then again I remember when it first aired and I couldn't get into it. Then around 6 months ago I saw it all because it was the inspiration for Deadly Premonition, and the show was really corny...like a parody of a bad soap opera.

I think the bad acting was on purpose. 🙂 I just finished watching it and I enjoyed it but there were some nonsensical parts.
