Its not a hobby level, But it could make a fun toy for christmas. And at that price, if it only flies a few times before wrecking it's worth it i think. Definitly for brginners though. I was going to get into RC Airplanes once and they were talking 399 for a "trainer" kit. I was like, Im not THAT serious about it. But this thing was pretty fun, for the not so serious🙂

Hmm, I wonder if these are fast enough for me to crash it into the nighbors cat? The rat shack heli looks very interesting.

They let them run wild and they piss all over around my house because we have an indoor cat. One even sprayed all over my wife while she was gardening in front. They try to jump in through the windows, walk all over my truck parked outside, leaving paw prints all over and slide down the windows. They also try to kill all the birds and tame squirrel I put out food for. Yes, we have laws that forbid letting animals run loose, but the neighbors could care less.

Just an FYI on buying RC helicopters...

Never buy a 2 channel RC helicopter because the first channel means it can go up and down, and the second channel means it can SPIN left and right. It doesn't mean you can go forward and backwards; that would be the third channel.

I have the 1st linked helicopter and was very disappointed when I found out it could only go up and down and SPIN left and right. It is pretty pointless flying it when you can't control the direction it goes, especially because it doesn't hover perfect straight. It just takes off and flies wherever it wants to.

In that case I recommend the Centrix-Int'l 'copter with it's larger blades.

Aren't you supposed to adjust it so it slowly flies forward? That way the left and right control direction.

Maybe this should be my secret opps weapon. If I can just find it, the cats will be toast.

I thought of paint ball guns, but it is too expensive. We have two of the neighbors cats running around plus a big mean one that has a bunged up leg. If I could fly a copter and drop a paint bomb on the cat it would be perfect.

Theoretically, that would be nice, however, there is no way you would be able to adjust it to do that. It is about as sporadic as it can get. It flies in no set pattern, with or without wind. It would just be best to get a 3 or more channel Helicopter.

I do admit, it is still fun to take it into the middle of a giant field and just watch it go wherever it wants to go....but the walk to where it flies to is usually a long one!!
