nope. thats pretty much the cheapest recommended power supply. its not that great though, I would spend a few extra bucks and grab the 720W enermax infiniti

A number of people use a Corsair HX620 for C2D/C2Q + G80 SLI, and it's only $101 AR @ Clubit.com. However if you are doing some serious o/c'ing you may need additional headroom since you typically want to stay below an 80% load on the psu to reduce heat output and fan noise.

The Silverstone ST75ZF & ST85ZF are better built and less expensive than the Silencer 750 Quad.

Since I have been accused of being an Antec pimp by a disgruntled forum member, let's not forget the Enhance built Antec Quattro 850. ;) It's one of the highest rated psu's on JohnnyGURU's site. Outstanding voltage regulation, 80%+ eff @ <200W loads, ultra low ripple, quiet, and it has a 5 year warranty.

I ran an E6600@3.6GHz 1.35V and a pair of X1900XTs@720/850 on a 600W Enhance with no issues. The GTX's will draw a tad more power than the XT's so I think you'd want one of the 750W models, especially with your quad. I'd stick with a single 12V rail though to avoid power issues. The 750W Silverstone that Mr. Fox linked to looks like a good option.

Having said that, in reading the recent article about the HP Blackbird, the Anandtech staff saw over 700W of power draw with an oced quad and dual 2900XTs. :Q

wow - lots of opinions here!!

i'm most likely keep my existing CPU for a while, and with the single 8800GTX i'm idling around 237W (according to my Watts Up Pro)...

so with a 2nd 8800GTX - I'm sure my base load will be around 300W
under heavy load, i'm pushing 469W and currently on an Antec 550W P/S

I can't seem to find that Zippy Serene available anywhere - anyone have links?

If you're measuring those numbers off the wall outlet, make sure you take the monitor's power draw and PSU's efficiency rating into account. The actual PC components (which is what you want to be looking at) may be using significantly less than that.
