but in terms of generational leaps, for 780/780TI OC users, that's not amazing.

I agree. But I will say, If the GTX 880 has anywhere near the same overclockibility as the GTX 750 ti, that 30% could become 50% after overclocked with bios tweak - volt mods.. .etc..? Also the extra 1GB of vram could also be enticing since games like Watchdogs are using it. To me it would make a worth while upgrade if I sold my current card to help fund the new one.

How about we compare performance/$? This is where Nvidia needs some work, and if they bring out a card that performs better than the 780Ti at a cheaper price, I don't see much to complain about...

I don't care if the chip is labeled as GM853, and is the size of a pebble. If the performance is there, and the price is right, bravo.
-no numbers so let me give mine for my $$$$$$
min 6gb vram
2 x 780 [felt like stating 780ti kingpin but I'm giving a break ]
priced at the 780 price - er less than $500.00

As I said in the other GTX 880 thread... the tick-toc would be far more tolerable if they launched the GXX10 variant in the 1st generation. This is the chip most people want to buy, and by the time it is released in Gen 2... it is outdated and a new architecture is right around the corner!!

Electricity is not cheap in biggest part of the countries. A gaming PC consuming 400 watt per hour is not affordable to many. That is why they focus on the second tier chips as Tahiti or GK104.

780 overclocks 35-40% and 780 also does 25-30% so that will not really help the 880. The biggest perk of moving on to 880 for many will be to quickly sell off 780 and esp. 780Ti if 880 is much cheaper to minimize their depreciation. if someone can time the sale of a 780Ti about 2-3 weeks before 880 launches, they'll probably get $100-150 extra for it.
