Tweaking Win7

I tried to install my outdated ZA, but it wont install on new W7.
(not supported)

1.
ZA could be quickly configured to block 'mme' instructions (block overlay popup ads and windows). But, I don't see this in W7 firewall. Can anyone advise me if the new ZA (or other product) that has this feature? Free? Or maybe a plugin for FireFox 3.5?

2.
I would like to show all folders in file 'detail' mode ...
(apply folder settings to all folders in detail mode)
... but cant find this option now. (Like W2K offered)

3.
I also noticed the I can't make a backup image of a single partition. All image backups must include the C drive. And, it seems there is little or no file compression. The image created takes almost as much space as the original partition.

Anyone know if the new version of Ghost (or other image maker) can work on W7 NTFS with working file compression?
Is there a free one?

TIA for any feedback.

Latest versions of Ghost or Acronis TruImage work with Vista & Windows 7 .. I have not used the latest ones as yet, so can't speak for how well they work. I currently use Ghost 2003 on XP systems. And I prefer to images in DOS or from the boot disc the programs create, never while the OS or Apps are in use.

Thanks for reply.

Yea, I found that I had to change each of my drive properties, under TAB customize.
Click box apply to all subfolders.

I still need a new way to stop the nasty overlay popups/panels and popup windows. I'm using FF3.5, so if there is a plugin, that would be better.

Yes I agree, I trust the DOS imaging process better.
It has work flawlessly for over 10 years for me.
