Tweak IU Question

I just finished a freash Install of Win98 with TweakIU. I was goofing off with it trying a few settings, you know trying to learn alittle more about the options it has. I went to the Destop Tab and UNchecked Network Neighborhood so it would take it off the desk top. So i was thinking his might be pretty cool to do at work so users couldnt get into it and mess with the settings. It came up with some kind of warning of course, but i thought i would see the out come of this 🙂
Welp it did work by taking it off the desktop, but now when i enter TweakIU and place a check into the box to add it back it wont come back up on the desktop! hehehe.

BTW.. This is a H/D that I only use for working/testing computers so its no bigger if i cant get it back. Im not going to try reinstalling windows back over if thats what it takes to get it back. Im just curious.
Were suppose to be getting Zenworks at work this year or next.

Thanks

Try this:

Fire up regedit (Start -> Run, type regedit, then enter)

Goto

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Look for a key called NoNetHood in the "folder". Now, right click, Modify, change the value from one to zero. All changes are immediate. Reboot.

Damaged,

There all ready set to 0

Looks like this:
00 00 00 00

I tried this also but no luck:
10 00 00 00

??
Thanks! 🙂

1. You need to change the name or delete 4 out of 5 RB0xx.cab under Windows\Sysbckup directory (xx is the sequential numbered from 00~99)

2. And, keep one CAB file unmod...one that you know/think that hasn't have the screwup. (right click on the cab file and chose properties to find out the time/date of the backup registry)

3. Then get to a dos promt, then type: SCANREG/RESTORE
