The PIP 27" Tau costs $549 retail. The non-PIP costs $499. I found mine as a Circuit City customer return (with extended warranty) for $449.Originally posted by: RossMAN
I think I saw some nice Panasonic Tau 27" at CostCo for $540 I wanna say?
They were BEAUTIFUL but I'd get a "lesser" TV, a Toshiba 32" those 5" are definitely noticeable.

I saw the 32" Panasonic Tau at my local Costco this evening for $799. A few months back, people were buying the 27" Akai (same as the 27" Samsung) for $379 at Sam's Club. The 27" Akai featured component video input along with the 16:9 "squeeze" option which will give you a better picture while watching wide-screen DVDs.1) Go to CostCo or Sam's Club
