Well this seems to be the most apropriate place for this question:
Is there, or would it be possible to have, a totaly software driven tv for you pc?
Surely any of your serial ports or whatever can accept analogue input, and so it should be possible for the cpu to do what a tv card would do, only not taking up a pci slot (a useful feature if you have none left)
Just a thought
my mate said that there probably is one for unix, but he makes up alot of stuff so i didnt want to go on his word.

your tv has a video/audio out connection its possible
but you must realize that serial ports and such arent exactly the best way to transmit data
