TV Tuner Suggestions for Converting VHS tapes and recording TV

Hey everyone, I'm researching tv tuners to put into my system (Asus A8N-E, AMD FX53, WIN XP SP2), but I've been running into some walls.

I want to be able to store all my VHS tapes onto my hard drive, and to record shows or football games when I want to (not at the same time).

In my search, I've looked into the Hauppauge PVRs (the 550, and the 150) and the Theater 550 cards. Not to mention other cards that support HDTV.

But for each card I always see complaints about driver issues, OS compatability, and quality. I really want to get the Hauppauge 550, but I heard it screws up with paired with an ASUS board, and the Theater 550 cards.

For my needs and setup, what would you suggest?

Thanks

I like PVR-150. Yes, there are issues with driver, but drivers on their website do support PVR-150 card well. I have two of them, and I am pretty happy with the quality. I have used that card to convert VHS into DVD and minidv into DVD.

I will be glad to assit you if you need additional help.
