I am thinking of getting a tv tuner card. This will be my first ever experience with one. I have no tv anymore and would like to watch tv on my computer since it's the next best thing. I want to know, how does the picture look on the computer? Is it pixelated at full screen or is it really clear? What will the quality depend on ? (ie. monitor, cpu, tv card?)

Secondly, which should i get? All i can see at futureshop here in Canada is the ATI tuner cards. Are those good?

I did a search and found someone saying that vga adaptor or vga box makes things much more clear. Is that true? what brand should i be looking for?

Thanks for any assistance.

if you're planning on fullscreening it, make sure you watch it like a tv... i.e. not in you computer chair. as long as you sit back a few extra feet it will look fine. not sure why anyone woudl do this though, since a 19" tv can be had for $100 USD

Reason is that our family is moving to another city and they packed and moved practically all the furniture already and all i have is my computer. I will be reunited with my tv in May. I just wanted something in the meantime since playoffs are starting soon.

Yep.... what he said. You sure don't want to watch it up close. Looks fuzzy up close, that's the best way I can describe it.

How do i know which tv tuner has the clearest picture? I looked on cnet for reviews but they don't have much. I did a google search and only found AIW reviews and 1 msi tv tuner review. Is there a spec that I should be looking for?

There aren't many tuner card reviews out there, but I can tell you from experience that the Leadtek Winfast TV2000XP Deluxe is a great card and it's relatively inexpensive.
