Has anyone purchased this card and have the same issue with the card sometimes showing up as an installed device in Device Manager and at other times not? The New Egg reviews for this product were all over the place. Alot of users were having the same problem I'm having now, but others were fine.
I'm running this card on an HTPC with an AMD E350 APU. Obviously the card isn't defective but one thing I suspect is that I'm only using 20 of the 24 pins of the motherboard power main (20+4) and I suspect this might be the cause of some of the issues because the symptoms seem power-related. For example, the card (pcie 1x in a 16x slot) "drops" out of the system during a reboot or hibernate.
Is this rationale correct? If I simply add the missing 4 pins in the main then that would give the PCIe slot more "juice" and the problems would disappear?
Any ideas will be helpful. The RMA process is really inconvenient and the techie in me would really like to find out why something that isn't defective doesn't work.
