Don't know what to tell you on that then - without inputs for audio and video I'm not sure how you'll get input from your STB...or audio.

Do I need to connect a mini-jack to my soundcard? As in, have the audio input from the tuner card connected to the green out on the sound card and then have a wire in the blue (which I'm assuming is "in") connections on the sound card that splits into the composite R/W?

You're guess is as good as mine. I've not had to mess with a STB - google on your STB model and "MCE" or similar and see how others have done it, I'd say. All my tuning on the PVR500 (an essentially similar model, but with 2 tuners) is straight analog cable, with no STB.

Forget about audio until you can get reliable video. Can you get any video yet? What if you tune your STB to a given station, keeping it there - do you see anything on the TV tuner at all, if you just run Hauppauge's TV applets?

Running VistaMCE, it picks up video easily. I just have it auto detect my connection and VistaMCE automatically finds the set top box. I manually configured it as well and got a picture, which, I'm assuming is from the channel I was on. So, I get video quite easily. Just need the audio. I'd like to set it up now even without the audio, but Vista wont let me past the IR detection thing. Apparently VistaMCE doesn't work with Hauppauge remotes and it wont let me past that initial IR detection.

Right - I wrote that on 7/22....sorry; Hauppauge's remote doesn't work. Grab the MCE remote and you'll get the IR line you need.

Hopefully I'll have this all sorted out in a few days when the stuff I just ordered arrives.
I bought the Vista Remote, since I guess that's the only way I'm going to get this working. I tried some of the freeware programs, but they were a huge hassle by comparison with Vista MCE. MCE immediately picks up on everything and finds the tuner and channel with no problems. I'm just stuck on that IR thing, since I don't have the remote. The other programs would sometimes work and sometimes not.
I also ordered this:

It's cheap, but it'll work. I don't need anything fancy. But, the way I figure is that I'll get the video card connected up via the S-video to component yellow and then plug the other part of the cable into the blue analog in on the soundcard and then into the speakers on the cable box. Hopefully that'll get me set up and working with sound and everything.

On ther back of the MCE 150 there should have been an S-video port, if you dont have S-video on your STB call your cable company and get them to replace it with one that does.

Anyone know if the external USB2.0 Adaptec dual tuner is 64-bit compatible (usually HP branded)? I bought one for my sister's Vista Premium laptop but she lives across the country and I can't simply try it.
